戦後のジュエリーは、戦前のデザインを復興するものが多く作られていましたが、新しい時代のファッションの流行と共にジュエリーのデザインも変化していきます。
多様化が進んだ５０年代のジュエリーデザインを定義するのは難しいことですが、３０年代のストレートで角ばったアール・デコのデザインは放棄され、丸みを帯びた曲線的なラインが好まれるようになっていきます。
これは　当時世界的な評価を得るようになっていた、スカンジナビアン・デザインがジュエリーにも影響を及ぼしているともいわれています。そしてまた　このリングを見ると輪郭が曲線の球体でインフォーマルな自由なラインが特徴的。
クチュリエの王　クリスチャン・ディオールが流行させた、丸みを付けたショルダーや細いウエストと、たっぷりしてふわっと膨らんだスカートなどの、当時のフェミニンなシルエットと共鳴しています。
そして５０年代のイヴニング・ウエアー用のジュエリーの特徴は、様々なカットのダイヤモンドをプラチナやホワイトゴールドでセッティングしたゴージャスなもの。
このリングの様にバゲット・ダイヤモンドを連ねたカスケードも、この時代に流行した贅沢なスタイルです。
使われているダイヤモンドは勿論すべて一級品です。戦後を切り開く新しい感性が生み出した50年代のジュエリーは、新鮮でわくわくしてきます。
